HIST 4230: Age of the Reformation
Project Duration
March 19 – approximately 6 hours
Overview
I was not given a prompt for this paper. Rather, my professor allowed the class the liberty to choose what we would write about. The limits were set by the course materials we had already covered. The essay covers the shift in the Reformation from a primarily theological debate to one that is best summed up as a “trial by death.”
Process
I used John Foxe’s “Books of Martyrs” and an understanding of the Reformation gained prior to and from the course to argue for a shift in the Reformation’s debate form.
Result
I received top marks on the paper and high praise from my professor:
Dr. Samuel Fullerton
Everything about [the introductory] paragraph is exceptional. This is a well-crafted essay with a strong premise and plenty of supporting evidence.
