ENGL 3430: British Literature to 1780
Project Duration
Mid to Late March
Overview
In this essay, the professor tasked me with talking about John Donne’s “Anatomy of the World.” I was required to analyze the poem and Donne’s view of the world and the individual, and relate it all to my own views.
Process
I performed a close reading and analysis of Donne’s poem to make my points and establish them with evidence.
Result
I received top marks on the project, in addition to high praise from my professor:
This is a terrific read! Your thoughtful revisions add clarity, and the essay is much better for being more concrete conceptually and more taut structurally at both the paragraph and the sentence level. You demonstrate your firm grasp on Donne’s ideas even as you clearly distinguish your own. Well done.
